Antivirus Removal Tool 2020.12 v.1

Descriptions:
Antivirus Removal Tool is a portable program to detect and completely remove antivirus software. It will help you identify current and past installations and provide you with official specialist uninstallers. These are designed by the manufacturers of antivirus programs to completely remove all files, drivers, services, and registry records left behind by the programs they produce.

Features:
Here are some scenarios in which this tool will be useful:
- You want to install a new antivirus, but to avoid possible conflicts, you want to remove as thoroughly as possible the one that is currently installed, as well as the leftovers of any others that had been installed on last.
- Regular uninstall failed and you are left with a broken system.
- Regular uninstall completed, but now you have issues related to the antivirus you just removed.
- Your computer is having problems because you have two or more antivirus programs installed and active, and you cannot remove them completely.

The antivirus removal tool is divided into 4 sections:
1 - Identify the currently installed antivirus programs.
2 - Search for remnants of previous antivirus program installations.
3 - Uninstall using Windows built-in functionality.
4 - Run the specialized uninstaller provided by the manufacturer.

Here is a more detailed description of the program's features:

- Identify the antivirus programs currently installed.

- Helps identify past installations of antivirus programs, searching the system for leftover folders from various common solutions. The results are conveniently presented in tree views, grouped by the name of the antivirus / manufacturer found. You can right-click on the paths and open them in file explorer to check their content.

- Ability to generate a report containing the serial number of the computer, operating system, current and past installations of antivirus products.

- Provides 1-click access to Windows “Add / Remove Programs”. From there, you can uninstall the antivirus using the usual uninstaller. Whenever available, the regular uninstaller should always be used first.

- Provides the official specialized uninstallers for 29 antivirus programs. These are easily presented in a combo box and can be executed with the click of a button.

- Multilingual support: Chinese (simplified), French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, English.

- Frequent update: As a general rule, this program will be updated once a month, but it can also be updated more frequently when needed. It will automatically check for an updated version when it starts.

Recent Changes:
2020.12 (v.1)
Fixed:
- When the application detects a third-party antivirus, Windows Defender should not show in the currently installed antivirus section.
However, in some circumstances, it showed itself anyway.

Modified:
- The following uninstallers have been updated: Avast, AVG, Emsisoft, Kaspersky, Mcafee, Norton, Symantec.
- Possible duplicate entries were eliminated from the currently installed antivirus section (this would happen because sometimes AVs leave or create duplicate entries in the WMI database).

Removed:
- MaxSecure uninstaller removed due to Windows Defender PUA detection.

WARNING!

PLEASE DISABLE your ANTIVIRUS BEFORE you extract the patches.

Unfortunately, some of these compression programs have a bad reputation in the security software industry, mainly because almost 99% of trojans/worms/etc. is packed with similar tools (or variants of these), and this self-unpack behavior is taken by some antivirus apps as an alarm signal.

Basically, this means that any trusted program packed with one of these tools can be erroneously detected as a virus, something known as a "FALSE POSITIVE".

Therefore, DON'T COMPLAIN about VIRUS or anything related to it in the comment sections.

If you don't know how to use them, do research first before complaining about FALSE POSITIVE DETECTION.

Anyway, thank you for visiting. Have a nice day.
