News:
Cisco Packet Tracer 8.1 enables Packet Tracer Tutored Activities (PTTA), a new type of activity that provides prompts to the learner along the way if desired. Packet Tracer Tutored Activities (PTTA) are designed to provide a more personalized and equitable learning experience. Additionally, Cisco Packet Tracer 8.1 includes bug fixes and enhancements to accessibility, usability, and security.
Version 8.1 is based on Cisco Packet Tracer 8.0. Version 8.0 was a major release with two exciting new updates:
- Enhanced physical mode invites students into virtual labs for a realistic in-rack device cabling experience. Reinforces critical skills such as device placement (rack and stack), device switching, device port-to-port cabling (including cable selection and management), troubleshooting, and more.
- A network controller, similar to existing real-world SDN controllers, such as Cisco DNA Center and APIC-EM. You can practice a centralized network management approach with the network controller model. Network Controller, through its web GUI or APIs, provides a centralized dashboard to view network status, quickly identify and fix problems, and then push configuration changes to all managed devices at once. Additionally, you can access the network driver from real applications running on your computers, such as a browser, Python, or Postman, to run your own infrastructure automation scripts.
