v6.2.5 – Fresh Branch
The latest “fresh” version of LibreOffice, recommended for technology enthusiasts, which contains new features and program enhancements. This version may contain a few annoying bugs which will be fixed in the next bugfix versions to come. Detailed release notes can be accessed from the link below.
LibreOffice 6.2.5 is the fifth bugfix release of the fresh line. For a list of fixed bugs compared to the previous release see the list of bugs fixed in RC1 and RC2.
In case of problems on Windows related to OpenGL rendering, you can disable it completely by applying a registry setting (only needed if LibreOffice crashes on startup, otherwise you can disable it in Tools|Options → LibreOffice → View). You can find the necessary fragment in Bugzilla (save with a .reg file extension, then you can double-click on the file to apply the change.
System Requirements:
The prerequisites for a LibreOffice installation on Windows systems are the following:
- Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8;
- Pentium compatible PC (Pentium III, Athlon, a newer system is recommended);
- 256 MB of RAM (512 MB of RAM recommended);
- At least 1.5 GB available on the hard drive;
- Resolution of at least 1024 × 768 (higher recommended), with at least 256 colors.
- For certain software features - but not for the most part - Java is required. Java is necessary especially for Base.
It is necessary to have administrator privileges for the installation process. It is recommended to back up the system and its data before removing or installing software.
